Gregory Martin
Born and raised in New York State, Gregory Martin has harbored a lifelong affinity for animals and the natural world.
One of his earliest memories is walking down his parents’ long driveway to the bus stop, accompanied on each side by a black chicken. That pair of hens, Lucy and Ethel, would perform this duty daily, making sure he got onto the bus safety before heading back toward the house (and then laying eggs in the neighbor’s backyard).
In the years to come, Gregory has owned and cared for a number of other animals, with ducks being among his favorites.
With the rising popularity of homesteading, sustainability, and self-sufficiency in the wake of the pandemic, he decided it was the perfect time to create a resource to help others raise their own poultry, whether for meat, eggs, companionship, or the embrace of a life of basics.
